What is a horse arena drag?

A horse arena drag or groomer is a piece of maintenance equipment to loosen and level footing material in riding arenas. An appropriate arena groomer will come with coil and/or S tines, a leveling blade on a swing to smooth out high and low spots, and a lattice roller in the back for a light compacted and to keep mixing any sand additives blended with your arena sand.

What do you need to drag an equestrian arena?

Aside from the arena drag itself, a Platz-Max arena drag can be perfectly paired with nearly any tow vehicle, arena footing type, and equine discipline.

Why do you drag a riding arena?

Grooming your equestrian arena is an important part of maintenance. Keeping your riding surface watered, leveled and softened at all times prolongs the soundness of and improves performance of your horse.

How often should an equestrian arena be harrowed?

Grooming of your horse arena should take place every evening after riding or twice a day depending on how many horses are being exercised on your arena footing.

How do arena groomers work?

Horse arena drags can be hooked up to a gator/ATV or small tractor. Then the tines of the groomer loosen, level, and finish horse arena footings. They add cushion to the footing by mixing the sand with the sand additives.
